Dear Friends: Welcome to Clear Pathways Coaching monthly newsletter. Although our April issue was about happiness, the subject is worth revisiting. I am teaching a course in Happiness this month at Ryerson University’s Life Institute. The study of happiness is so multi-faceted we cannot begin to cover all that it affects in a brief newsletter. Yet, in these challenging times, the need to be positive and live our lives with both pleasure and meaning may be essential.

Building A Happiness Tool Kit:
1. Take ownership of your happiness.
2. Happiness boosters - These are brief activities which give meaning and pleasure that have both present and future benefit. They may last from a few minutes to a few hours.
3. Create high quality connections and relationships.
4. Cultivate kindness – try to perform new acts of kindness each week.
5. Don’t believe everything you think – find healthy distractions to break patterns of ruminating over negative thoughts.
6. Ritualize gratitude – notice the gifts that surround you.
7. Savor positivity - Find a source of positivity whether past, present or future and cherish the event.
