Clear Pathways Coaching Newsletter 4/9/08

Dear Friends: Welcome to our monthly newsletter. We offer
some information, some inspiration and some features to
keep you smiling.

This month the focus is on self-care. Being “selfish” with
ourselves is how we build up inner reserves. Make a
special date with yourself; do something fun; allow
yourself some time to be lazy. In other words, you deserve
to take time for your life.

Warmly, Lillian

QUOTE OF THE MONTH: Saying no can be the ultimate self-care
– Claudia Black

CONSIDER THIS:

We need resiliency to get through the ups, downs and in
betweens of life. How resilient we are depends on how well
we keep our inner reserves replenished. Think of having
four bank accounts: time, money, resources and energy. Do
you find you have more to do than time allows? What about
money? Are you keeping your finances balanced or find
yourself in the red? Do you want to spend more quality
time with family/friends but haven’t figured out how to
stop juggling everything else so you can make that time?
What about your emotional, mental and spiritual energy?
Are you feeling on top of your game? How you answer these
questions indicates whether your bank accounts are
overdrawn or not. It will take some creativity, ingenuity
and a lot of self-care to keep those accounts well-stocked.

ARTICLE: This article is a reprint from last May’s
Newsletter. Some Things You Learn from a Dog can be
wonderful self-care tips.

Things We Can Learn from a Dog

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face

to be pure ecstasy.

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising.

Run, romp and play daily.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by
and nuzzle them gently.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady
tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the
guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joys of a long walk.
