Clear Pathways Coaching Newsletter 11/9/07

Dear Friends: Welcome to our monthly newsletter. We offer
some information, some inspiration and some features to
keep you smiling.

The end of the year is fast approaching. We will soon be
caught up in the holiday season with all its demands upon
us. This might be just the right time to reflect and
assess what has unfolded in 2007.

Warmly,
Lillian

QUOTE: Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a
going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill
in us. - Hal Borland

CONSIDER THIS: What did you experience this year that
instilled new wisdom? What goals for this year were you
able to achieve or come close to achieving? What loose
ends need to be tied up before year’s end? Will you be
going into the new year without a lot of carry-over?

ARTICLE

Here are more points to ponder as you review your year to
date:
1. How have I honored my main resolution for this year?
2. What positive changes have I made so far?
3. How have I taken better care of my body, my mind, or my
heart?
4. How have I been a better partner, spouse, friend, or
co-worker?
5. What qualities of character have I developed? Am I more
patient, generous, focused, or financially responsible?
6. How has my environment improved? Have I cleaned up my
home or office, challenged myself to throw things out, or
added more beauty to my life?
7. What have I done to help others improve the quality of
their lives?

As you consider these questions, build a strong foundation
for success by focusing on what's worked instead of
focusing on what still needs to change. When you
acknowledge your growth, you build self-respect and
self-trust - two key ingredients that will support you in
making healthier choices for you and your loved ones from
this point on.

The greatest gift we give to humanity is our commitment to
constantly raise our level of consciousness. Each week, as
you take one simple step to live a healthier, more creative
life, you do just that. This is important work and you
deserve to celebrate your success. So, try this:
Make a list of at least five positive changes you've made
so far this year. Open a file on your computer right now
labeled "My Success List" and put the five items on the
list (add it to a prior list if you've done this before).
It's extremely important to put this list in writing. By
doing so you send a message to yourself that you're worth
the time and energy.
And, when your self-worth increases, the world responds
accordingly. You become a magnet for better life
experiences. Share your successes with a friend or family
member. Go to the theater, enjoy dinner with a friend, or
buy yourself a gift. Don't just move onto the next to-do
item or goal. Stop and reward yourself for all your hard
work! – excerpted from Cheryl Richardson’s Newsletter, Week
28

GOOD HUMOR/GOOD HEALTH
There’s nothing like breaking into that piggy bank of
childhood memories to put smiles on our faces and lift our
spirits. What will you find in your piggy bank – raking
autumn leaves into huge piles then jumping in; toasting
marshmallows on a stick over a campfire; lying in the snow
making snow angels; getting all covered with sand at the
beach; having watermelon pit-spitting contests?

The unexpected and enjoyable can boost our physical and
mental energy. Think of something simple you would love to
do and pencil it into your schedule. Ten minutes of
blowing bubbles or eating an old-fashioned peanut butter
and jelly sandwich could give you a new outlook on your
week.

Remember: He who laughs, lasts.
