Clear Pathways Coaching Newsletter 10/9/07
Dear Friends: Welcome to our monthly newsletter. We offer some information, some inspiration and some features to keep you smiling. Beginning with Canadian Thanksgiving in October, then moving into American Thanksgiving in November, we are in the midst of great opportunity. This is a time to experience appreciation and gratitude on a very deep level. Warmly, Lillian To read this newsletter on-line go to: http://www.clearpathwayscoaching.com Contents: Quote of the month Consider this Article Good humor/good health QUOTE: I would rather be able to appreciate things I cannot have than to have things I am not able to appreciate. - Elbert Hubbard CONSIDER THIS: Several years ago I had a conversation with a very wise friend about appreciation and gratitude. He talked about how having true appreciation was like having an unobstructed view of the sun. He added that lacking in appreciation would be like trying to see the sun from beneath the sea. Even during difficult times, if we can manage to find something to be thankful for – support and caring of friends and family, having food, shelter, etc. – we will rise to the surface of the water so the sun can warm our hearts and souls. ARTICLE: My Thanksgiving by Rebecca K. Drnjevic Some Snow...Some Family...Some Hellos...Some Friends...Some Songs...Some Games...Some Prayers...Some Thanks...Some Dinner...Some Pets...Some Naps...Some Dessert...Some Hugs....Some Goodbyes...MUCH...To Be Thankful For! GOOD HUMOR/GOOD HEALTH: A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?" The stock boy replied, "No ma'am, they're dead." The Flying Turkey by Jack Prelutsky The Turkey popped out of the oven and rocketed in to the air; It knocked every plate off the table and partly demolished a chair. It ricocheted into a corner and burst with a deafening boom, Then splattered all over the kitchen, completely obscuring the room. It stuck to the walls and the windows, it totally coated the floor, There was turkey attached to the ceiling, where there had never been turkey before.. It blanketed every appliance, it smeared every saucer and bowl; There wasn't a way I could stop it; that turkey was out of control. I scraped and I scraped with displeasure and thought with chagrin as I mopped, That I would never again stuff a turkey with popcorn that hadn't been popped. May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey be plump. May your potatoes 'n gravy Have nary a lump, May your yams be delicious May your pies take the prize, May your Thanksgiving dinner Stay off of your thighs. May your Thanksgiving be blessed!!
